An ongoing outage has left thousands of BT customers unable to access their email services, according to reports. The issue began around 05:00 GMT on Saturday, with over 5,000 complaints received by outage-tracking site Downdetector. BT has issued an apology to affected customers and stated that they are currently investigating the cause of the problem, noting that other services such as Broadband, TV, and mobile packages remain unaffected.
Customers across the UK have reported difficulties with accessing their emails, with complaints coming in from locations such as Aberdeenshire and Dumfries in Scotland, as well as Warwick, Norfolk, and Wakefield in England. On social media, one user named Paul Hough expressed frustration, asking when the problem would be resolved. Another customer mentioned receiving a message about a server outage when trying to log in. Some customers found success in accessing their emails by switching from wi-fi to mobile data.
BT has advised impacted customers to utilize mobile data instead of wi-fi to access their email accounts. While the cause of the outage is still under investigation, the company continues to work towards resolving the issue. It remains unclear when full service will be restored to all affected customers, as complaints continue to come in from various regions across the country
