Southport attack: Parents of Elsie and Bebe give first TV interviews

A mourning and tearful tribute was paid by the parents of Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven years old, and Bebe King, six years old, who were both victims of a brutal murder that happened during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. Jenni and David Stancombe, alongside the parents of Bebe King, granted their first ever interview to the cast of Good Morning Britain on ITV to deliver a tribute to their daughters.

The murderer who took the lives of the two children, as well as nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar, in Southport last year was identified as Axel Rudakubana. His crime was serious enough for him to receive a life sentence with a minimum jail time of 52 years. This marks a huge victory in the fight against internet child abuse.

Sadly, the families of the two victims will have to bear a lifetime of grief and mourning for the loss of their daughters. It was heartbreaking to see the tributes paid to the girls during their interview with Good Morning Britain. With the support of the audience, they spoke of how they remembered their daughters and of the dear memories that they would always hold in their hearts.

Although justice has been served, the tragedy of the event will continue to haunt the families of the victims for the rest of their lives. Even still, their moving and heartfelt tribute to Elsie Dot Stancombe and Bebe King will never be forgotten
