In recent news concerning the South of France, it has been confirmed by French prosecutors that a British couple, Andrew and Dawn Searle, died in their home located in the hamlet of Les Pesquiès, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, five days ago. The couple, originally from Scotland, moved to France and had lived there for five years. The deaths were initially brought to the attention of the authorities by a neighbour who had gone to check on the couple after they failed to turn up for a planned dog walk.
Andrew Searle, 62-years-old, died from hanging at the rear of the house whereas Dawn Searle, 56-years-old, was found at the front of the house with “multiple blows to the head with a blunt and sharp-edged object”. The discovery of the corpses was made by the neighbour, who then alerted the police, and local police also called in expert help from Toulouse, about 43 miles away.
