More than 50 firefighters tackle serious Aberdeen blaze

On Sunday evening, a business in Aberdeen was hit with a serious fire that required over 50 firefighters to battle it. Norscot Truck and Van at Woodside Road in the Bridge of Don area found themselves in distress after the fire broke out. In response, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six fire engines and a height vehicle among other resources to the scene. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Fortunately, initial reports indicate that there were no injuries sustained as a result of the fire. This is a stroke of luck for those affected as it could have easily gone the other way. A serious fire involving such a widespread area could have easily led to fatalities, and overworking of the emergency response team. The team, therefore, were able to manage the fire before it escalated to a point where more damage was caused.

The operation that the firefighters engaged in was one of a kind. Dozens of the firefighters gave it their all to safeguard people’s livelihoods and properties. The fact that there has been no reported incidence of damage to property, implies that the job was done right. It takes courage and selflessness to put one’s life on the line to save others in these situations. Therefore, most of the efforts made were heroic and should be commended.

It is now more important than ever for people to be vigilant when it comes to matters of fire safety. One should protect their property and, more importantly, their lives, from being ravaged by disasters such as fires. Even though the cause of the blaze is still unknown, it goes without saying that everyone should prioritize fire safety measures to avoid such a catastrophe from happening in the future
