The organizers of Burning Man have announced that the 2025 festival will feature a tiered ticketing system, ranging from $550 to $3000. The least expensive ticket will be allocated to those who are first in line to purchase tickets. The sale of tickets will begin on February 12th, and interested attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase on a “pay more if you can” basis. These additional contributions will go towards offering lower-cost “Ticket Aid” passes and “Honoraria art grants,” as well as covering essential operational costs of the festival.
Individuals hoping to attend the festival can buy tickets on a first-come, first-served basis for $550, $650, $750, $950, $1,500 and $3,000. For those on lower incomes, Burning Man’s “Ticket Aid” program will allocate a limited number of tickets at $225. The 2025 festival will take place over a period of six days in August, in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. The introduction of this new “scaled” ticketing program follows several years of serious financial difficulties for the festival’s organizers, who faced a $5.7 million shortfall in 2024 due to low attendance rates.
Burning Man did not sell out in 2024, which marked the first time in ten years that this has happened. Following this, the organizers appealed for donations of around $20 million in October 2024 to ensure that the festival could proceed in 2025. CEO Marian Goodell declared in a statement that the main cause of the cash shortfall was the failure of higher-priced tickets to sell as planned in 2024. Sign-ups for tickets to Burning Man 2025 will be available on the festival’s website up until February 11th at 12 PM Pacific Time.
In summary, Burning Man festival organizers are introducing a tiered ticketing system with different price points, including a ‘pay more if you can’ basis. Individuals will be able to purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis starting from $550. There will also be a limited number of tickets allocated to “Ticket Aid” program at $225. The festival was faced with serious financial issues in 2024 due to poor attendance, which has resulted in a new “scaled” ticketing program for 2025. Those interested in attending Burning Man festival 2025 can purchase tickets until February 11th at 12 PM Pacific Time through the festival’s website
