Sziget, Budapest’s six-day music and arts festival, has unveiled its second wave of acts for its 2024 event, including Post Malone, A$AP Rocky and Shawn Mendes as headliners, as well as 16 additional artists. The festival returns to Óbudai-Sziget, or ‘Old Buda Island’, from 6 to 11 August. Among the fresh line-up are HorsegirlL, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Caribou and Helado Negro.
Sziget festival is known to be a vibrant environment, showcasing a diverse programme of performances comprising circus, theatre, dance and music. The festival is fittingly nicknamed ‘The Island of Freedom’ and has a reputation for conferring an immersive experience upon its guests.
Previously announced headlining artists include Justice, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, The Blessed Madonna, Armin van Buuren, ANYMA, and Brutalismus 3000. According to a review by Mixmag from last year’s festivities, Sziget provided “a parallel universe where freedom, self-expression, and an eclectic soundtrack reign supreme.” A full festival pass starts at 309 EUR or 249 EUR for under-21s. Visitors may also purchase three-day passes for 189 EUR. Tickets are available on the festival’s website.
