From July 31 to August 10, the top chess players in Britain will descend upon Liverpool as the English Chess Federation’s most important annual event returns to the city for only the second time. The competition will crown new British champions in all age groups, with the series of tournaments being held in the iconic St George’s Hall. Liverpool’s landmark will also witness a weekend congress for amateurs in the nearby Liverpool Holiday Inn on Lime Street.
