Kevin Saunderson and son Dantiez link up on first e-Dancer album in 25 years

Kevin Saunderson and his son Dantiez have teamed up for a new e-Dancer album. The self-titled creation is the pair’s first original album since 1998. Primed to land on One House this spring, the 10 track project is set to bring the sound of Detroit techno into new areas. The album marks a decade of collaboration between the father-son duo. The second single, Emotions, launched on the same day as the album announcement.

“When I decided to make music, my path was to make people dance. It always will be. Dance is happiness; it’s joyful,” says Kevin. “It’s a connection between different cultures, races and people worldwide. I know it’s in Dantiez’s DNA too. When people hear the album, I hope they hear the connection between a father and son on the same path of creating music,” he continues.

Formerly solo output for Kevin, e-Dancer entered a new era when he invited his son on board in 2024. Their first collaborative track, Melodica, launched back in October. Kevin’s work has made a significant impact on the scene, and he believes Black people aren’t as aware of techno’s origins as they should be.

The new album’s tracklist features Melodica, Emotions, Dancer, Frequency, Symbolical, Reece Punch, Drumtalk, Bring The Funk, Feel The Rhythm, and Escape. Listening to e-Dancer’s latest creation may prove a powerful connection between generations and highlight how Black art influences the progress of vibrant communities worldwide.
