Boy's mother told him peace deal would stop bombs


The family of one of the young schoolchildren who lost their lives in the Omagh bombing in 1998 has described in an inquiry how he was killed just months after being told the Good Friday Agreement peace deal would bring an end to all bomb attacks. Oran Doherty was one of several children killed in the explosion in the County Tyrone town. The family statement was given anonymously but read out to the inquiry by Oran’s sister. Oran’s mother was reported to have said her family would “never forgive the bombers”.
