Holly Willoughby speaks of 'tough' time after kidnap plot


In a recent interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine, Holly Willoughby spoke out for the first time about the traumatic kidnapping plot that caused her to leave her job as host of This Morning. In the interview, Willoughby opened up about how tough the past year has been for her, and how difficult it was to talk about the event. She noted that she made a conscious decision to focus on positive things, and that she is now healthy and happy.

The man convicted of plotting to kidnap Willoughby, Gavin Plumb, was found guilty last summer and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 16 years. Willoughby waived her anonymity in connection with the case, and spoke about the difficult decision to move forward and focus on positive things rather than letting the traumatic event affect her life. She credited the support of her husband, children, friends, and family, as well as the police, court, judge, and jury, with helping her to stay positive and move on from the ordeal.

Willoughby also spoke about leaving This Morning, which was not related to the kidnapping plot. Her co-host of over a decade, Philip Schofield, had already left earlier that year after admitting to an affair with a former colleague. Willoughby said that leaving the show was a simple and easy choice, and that she has enjoyed being able to do things like attend her children’s school assemblies and do the school run.
