The murder of a 17-year-old boy has resulted in four teenagers being charged and facing a hearing. Thomas Taylor, the victim, was fatally stabbed near a bus station by a group of males while walking near Greenhill Street; Bedfordshire Police listed the time of the attack as 17:50 GMT on Wednesday. Two 18-year-old teenagers, Ahmed Adam and Bennett Ndenkeh, along with two youths aged 16 and 17, and whose names cannot be released for legal reasons appeared at Luton Magistrates’ Court in the accused box.
During the hearing, Mr. Adam of Kempston, Bedford and Mr. Ndenkeh of Midland Road, Bedford wore grey tracksuits, whilst the 16-year-old decked himself up in a navy suit along with a blue shirt, and the 17-year-old donned a black suit and white shirt. None of the defendants entered a plea during the hearings, and District Judge Keem Low remanded the two adult defendants to custody while remanding the two youths to youth detention accommodation.
The accused will face a charge of murder, and a 16-year-old boy who was also arrested on Saturday as part of the incident was later released on bail. The four remaining defendants are scheduled to appear in Luton Crown Court on Wednesday. Thomas was known to Bedford College where he was a former student who had gone on to study mechanical engineering however had not been in attendence at the time of his death.
