Friends and relatives of a man killed in a motorbike crash in Thailand are raising money to bring his body back to the UK. Corey Beavis, 28, from Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, died over the weekend. A fundraising campaign has exceeded £6,000 in under 24 hours. His twin Liam told BBC Wales that the pair had spent every second of their 28 years together, sharing every good memory and that “[Corey] lived life to the fullest and I’m glad we did it together”. Corey reportedly did not have travel or life insurance.
Describing the loss as “immeasurable”, the family of Corey Beavis has said that he led a life “ten times beyond his wildest imagination”. A foreign office spokesperson said they were supporting the family of a British man who has died in Thailand and are in contact with the authorities there. His brother Liam said that while he would struggle with the pain for the rest of his life, he would continue making Corey proud.
His family remembers Corey Beavis as a larger-than-life person who adored family and friends. In describing him, they said he lit up every room he entered and had an infectious laugh. They went on to explain the pain of repatriation and laying their loved one to rest, stating that they hadn’t taken out life insurance, and the costs were unimaginable.
