A man was found unconscious at Grisedale Hause near Grisedale Tarn in the Lake District on Boxing Day. Mountain rescue teams were called to the scene and attempted to resuscitate him but he was declared dead. The body was taken to Keswick Mountain Rescue base by a Coastguard helicopter. The Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team were at the scene for almost five hours after being called at approximately 15:00GMT.
The identity of the man has yet to be revealed and investigations into the cause of the incident are currently underway. No further information has been released at this stage.
