Several families in Scotland experienced the joy of welcoming newborns as Christmas Day babies. Anne-Marie Hunt and Gordon Wilson from Livingston were enjoying a Christmas Eve movie night when their little girl arrived earlier than expected. Her due date was set for 2 January, but she surprised her parents by being born at 05:16 on Christmas Day at St John’s Hospital, weighing 6lb 7oz. The couple has not yet decided on a name.
Another happy family were Alyshia Glen and Daniel McGhee who met their daughter, born at 01:35 on Christmas Day, weighing 8lb 6oz, at University Hospital Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. Emma McLaughlin gave birth to her daughter, Kiara Rose, at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital in Glasgow at 01:48. Kiara weighed in at 8lb 6oz. A few hours later, at 04:16, Katarzyna Wojcik and Krisztian Poth also welcomed their own little girl who weighed 6lb 5oz.
Furthermore, Lauren Breach had her own Christmas miracle as baby Ollie was born at 07:49 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. Ollie weighed just under 8lb. The families will always have a special memory to cherish of the day their child was born, sharing the joy of the miracle of life on Christmas Day
