Carmarthenshire manhunt after dad-of-two killed in hit-and-run


A father-of-two has died after being hit by a car while out walking his dog in Carmarthenshire. The man was hit by a car between 18:45 GMT and 19:45 on Monday near Caer Salem Baptist Chapel in Llanpumsaint. The community has been left in mourning by the tragic event, with a local councillor describing the man as a “young” father with two children.

Dyfed-Powys Police have urged the driver of a blue car with noticeable damage, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward. The road where the incident occurred remained closed until 10:30 on Tuesday. Officers have established that the vehicle involved was travelling northbound through Llanpumsaint at the time of the collision.

Llanpumsaint Park, which had planned a Santa Parade in the coming weeks, extended its “deepest sympathies” to the family and community. The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of taking precautions while on the road.
