A Londoner named Debbie Killingback had the opportunity to star as George Michael’s girlfriend in the video. Recently, she visited the BBC Radio London studio to recall her experience with presenter Shay Kaur Grewal.
Killingback recounted how she was discovered by a member of the production team while working at a London fashion boutique. After several auditions, she was chosen to play the lead female role in the video. Despite being new to acting, Killingback said the experience was enjoyable, with Michael and other crew members being friendly and supportive. They even invited her to the wrap party and thanked her for her hard work.
The “Last Christmas” video has become a beloved holiday classic, with its scenes of skiing, sledding, ice skating, and Christmas shopping in picturesque mountain settings. Killingback noted that it was filmed over several days in November, with real snow and cold temperatures making it challenging at times.
