Police hunt for three men after Auldhouse Park murder bid

Police in Glasgow are investigating an attempted murder in the city’s south side. A man is seriously injured following an attack in Auldhouse Park on Friday evening. Detectives are seeking three men seen in the area at the time of the attack. The men were last seen on Riverford Road, with one riding an e-scooter.

Police have sealed off the area and are reviewing CCTV footage, while officers speak to anyone with information that may help with the investigation. People with any information about the attack are being asked to contact the police. Detective Inspector John Dowds assured the public that officers are doing everything necessary to locate those responsible.

The attack happened at approximately 7:30 pm, with the victim rushed to hospital soon after. The man’s current condition is not known, and police have not released any further information about the incident.

The fact that one of the men fled the scene on an e-scooter will likely heighten concerns about the safety of these devices. High-profile accidents involving e-scooters have led to calls for tighter regulations and controls over their use. It remains unclear whether police believe the use of an e-scooter played any part in the attack, or whether it was merely the means of escape used by one of the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who saw anything suspicious or has information is requested to come forward. It is unknown whether the attack was a random act or if the victim was specifically targeted. The incident will bring attention to the issue of crime in Glasgow and the steps being taken to combat it
