Last Friday, Deadpool actor and Wrexham AFC co-owner, Ryan Reynolds, visited a pub in Wrexham with fellow actors, Channing Tatum and Brandon Sklenar. According to reports, Reynolds offered to buy a round of drinks for everyone in the pub. During his visit, Reynolds joked with the patrons mentioning that unless he visited each of them in their homes, he wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday season. The trio of actors also posed for photographs with fans in attendance before leaving.
In addition to owning a football club, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney announced that they had taken co-ownership of Wrexham Lager in October. The brewery which already sponsors Wrexham AFC is believed to be the oldest British lager brewery still in existence. Wrexham AFC has had a prosperous year since the takeover, moving from the National League back into the Football League, and currently holding the number two spot in the League One rankings.
In a video posted on social media, Reynolds informed the Wrexham faithful that he was looking forward to the team’s upcoming game against Cambridge United. Fans of the actor and football club co-owner were excited to see him in attendance at the pub ahead of the fixture.
The trio of celebrities surprised patrons in the Fat Boar on Friday night, much to the surprise of those in attendance. Customers had the opportunity to pose for photographs with the actors who seemed in high spirits during their visit. Reynolds’ act of kindness buying drinks for those in the pub was appreciated by the patrons, some of whom took to social media to express their gratitude
