The moment seemed to take the wind out of everyone’s sails. The father’s confession had the power to silence the courtroom. Meanwhile, Batool and Malik, both of whom had previously pointed the finger at Sharif, were finally exonerated.
After a two-day break the trial proceeded. The prosecution called no further witnesses, and the defence for each of the defendants offered closing arguments.
