Tom Voyce, who played rugby for England, is missing and feared dead after he did not return home following an evening with friends on Saturday evening. Northumbria Police received a report that the 43-year-old had not returned to his Alnwick home. It is suspected that he attempted to cross Abberwick Ford, near Alnwick, in his car which was then pulled along by the current of the river. His car was found by officers, but Voyce himself is still missing.
The weather in the UK was severe over the weekend due to Storm Darragh, bringing with it a number of flood warnings across the country. It is believed that Voyce went missing in an area of Northumberland which was flooded during the storm.
Following his retirement from rugby in 2013, Voyce has been living in Alnwick since 2020. He played for England from 2001 until 2006. At present, there is no information on Voyce’s whereabouts, and the search for him is continuing
