During a recent informal meeting, Donald Trump described the Prince of Wales as a “good looking guy”. The encounter took place in Paris, where the two men had gathered alongside other international leaders to mark the re-opening of Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was badly damaged by fire five years ago. According to the US President-elect, the Prince “looked really, very handsome last night” and “looked great”. The exchange also covered some of the health issues affecting members of the Royal Family.

During the same Paris visit, Trump also met with French President Emmanuel Macron, who hosted the Notre-Dame event. Trump praised Macron, describing him as a “good man” who had done a “good job” on the chapel. The two men have previously had quite a strained relationship with Macron having labelled some of Trump’s previous statements as “fake news”. However, the two were said to have been quite relaxed and at ease with one another, despite the inevitability of future political disagreements
