'Living nightmare' after grandson found dead in hotel in Turkey


The family holiday of a lifetime quickly turned into a nightmare after Tyler Kerry, a 20-year-old British man from Basildon, was discovered fatally injured in a lift shaft at a hotel near Lara Beach in Antalya, Turkey. He was only 36 hours into his Mediterranean seaside vacation with his grandparents, girlfriend, and other relatives. Collette Kerry, Tyler’s grandmother, described her grandson as “full of life, enjoying his holiday, and the people he was meeting.”

After receiving a knock on her door early on Friday morning from her grandson informing her of Tyler’s fall at the Trendy Lara Hotel, Collette followed him to the hotel’s basement. There, they saw Tyler, flat on his face, with only a pair of boxers and socks. Collette said the Turkish police told her that they were treating Tyler’s death as suspicious, and it is still shrouded in mystery.
