Ladbroke Grove: Man charged over shooting of girl, 8, and father


A man from Kensington has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a shooting in west London, which seriously injured an eight-year-old girl and her father. Jazz Reid, aged 32, has also been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition. He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday. Both victims were taken to hospital with “serious gunshot injuries” after the shooting, which occurred on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove at about 17:30 GMT on Sunday. The girl’s two-year-old sibling and mother, aged 32, were also in the car but were unharmed, the Metropolitan Police stated.

Scotland Yard confirmed on Wednesday that the girl and her father were in a serious but stable condition in hospital. The officers previously thanked the public for coming to the aid of the pair, but are still urging witnesses to come forward.
