Olivia Rodrigo has been spotted in the Welsh town of Llandudno. The American singer-songwriter, known for hits such as Drivers License and Good 4 U, was shopping in a Marks & Spencer store when she was captured in a selfie by M&S worker Rose Ann Bituon-Thomas.
According to Bituon-Thomas, Rodrigo had been walking around Llandudno for several weeks. The pair first met when Bituon-Thomas offered to help Rodrigo, who was wearing a scarf at the time, while shopping in the store. In a second encounter, Bituon-Thomas worked as a conveyor belt operator, and Rodrigo approached her naturally without any bodyguards present.
Rodrigo is half-Filipino, and when Bituon-Thomas greeted her with “kumusta,” which is Filipino for “hello,” Rodrigo lit up. The singer was happy to take a selfie with Bituon-Thomas, who said their conversation was normal and relaxed. However, it remains a mystery as to why Rodrigo was in Llandudno, although her boyfriend, actor Louis Partridge, is said to have Welsh roots.
Partridge has previously visited Llandudno with his family, according to Bituon-Thomas. People have spotted the couple visiting local bars and restaurants, including Da Venezia. In one incident, Rodrigo spontaneously sang Happy Birthday to someone in the restaurant, despite the other diners not recognizing her.
Rodrigo is currently one of the biggest names in pop music and has a sell-out tour scheduled for 2025. Her headline performance at BST Hyde Park is also set for 27 June 2025. Bitoun-Thomas said she thinks Rodrigo had a great time in Llandudno. Meanwhile, Marks & Spencer in Llandudno said Rodrigo wasn’t on their “2024 bingo card.
