Former BBC news presenter Huw Edwards has been accused of “grooming” a man who was still in school at the time. Speaking on Welsh-language current affairs show Y Byd ar Bedwar, the accuser, who did not want to be named, said Edwards invited him to the BBC’s London offices when he was 18 and still a pupil. The man, who is now in his early 20s, alleged that Edwards offered him help with his career via messages he sees as inappropriate, including referring to him as “babe” and “big boy” and signing off with kisses. The man argued that Edwards was grooming him.
After visiting the premises, he said Edwards cut all contact with him. “I think it’s obvious he was grooming me, trying to pull me in,” he said. “I remember him asking me to meet him, then telling me not to worry if I couldn’t, which he followed with a few kisses.
