Glastonbury 2025: Tips for getting tickets

Millions of fans are eagerly waiting for the ticket sales to open for the next Glastonbury Festival scheduled to be held between June 25-29, 2025. The demand for tickets is expected to skyrocket this year as there will be no festival the following year in 2026. Even though no headlines have been confirmed yet, the tickets supply is expected to fall short of demand, with the organisers anticipating the worst as repeated in Emily Eavis’ statement earlier this year on BBC’s Sidetracked podcast. Despite knowing that a lot of the people will be disappointed as the festival grapples with a ticket crunch every year, founder Michael Eavis is still against hosting the event for more than its current duration.

Last year, where the festival was held, all 210,000 tickets sold out within just 58 minutes. With over 2.5 million people trying to log on and secure a spot online, the festival remains one of the most coveted. Meanwhile, the organisers encourage prospective attendees to participate in volunteering and competition opportunities to secure a spot.

The festival offers two types of weekend tickets, coach and general entry – the former being the more eco-friendly option. The release of ticket and coach packages is scheduled for Thursday, November 14, at 6 pm GMT. The general admission tickets will be going on sale on Sunday, November 17, at 9 am GMT. With only six tickets available per transaction, organisers advise potential buyers to gather registration details of all attendees able to participate to maximise their chances to grab a spot.

To prevent touts from scamming potential attendees, registration-with-prepayment is mandatory, and the opening for the same has already closed. Before the sale begins, attendees are advised to verify their registered information and make sure it is up-to-date. However, the festival also attracts malware scams and fraud, so attendees are urged to buy only from the official website.

Since this year, Glastonbury has introduced a new queuing system that requires early logging in to ensure attendees receive a random place in the queue. Also, with delayed arrivals, individuals may get placed at the back of the queue. Hence, attendees are advised to log in on time, with even a possibility of logging in from work for better internet connectivity. Using multiple devices can cause errors and may even remove users from the queue. Additionally, attendees must double-check their confirmation email, with a junk mail check to follow.

Though ticket searchers may find grasps of tickets for 2025 short-lived, there is always a possibility of acquiring them through volunteering, contests, and returned or cancelled tickets that go up for resale by April of the festival year. Finally, though the line-up remains a well-protected secret, rumours of possible performers such as Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, and Stevie Wonder abound, with confirmations expected as late as March of the festival year
