The fourth annual Together At Christmas carol service organized by the Princess of Wales is set to celebrate people from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy in support of those in need. According to Kensington Palace, the event will take place at Westminster Abbey on December 6. The Royal Foundation, a charity backing the work of the Prince and Princess, offers support for the carol service.
The event, where around 1,600 invited guests, will be attended by members of the royal family and others being recognised for their work in supporting others. These guests were nominated either through charities linked to the royal family or by Lord Lieutenants who represent the King in different UK areas. Fifteen Soothe At Christmas services will take place in total across the country, with performances to take place at locations like Blackpool Tower Circus and Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
After a period in which she largely withdrew from public life following her cancer diagnosis, the Princess of Wales has resumed work on several events. Recently, she attended several events related to Remembrance over the weekend, which marked her first major formal appearances since finishing chemotherapy.
The carol service will act as a moment to reflect on the importance of love and empathy. It will provide an opportunity to consider the experiences of others who have received tremendous love, care, and help during difficult and trying times. Its theme takes inspiration from the Christmas story that encourages sharing and giving and the human need of receiving empathy. Paloma Faith and Olivia Dean are among the stars slated to perform musical numbers at the event, which will be filmed and broadcast on ITV1 as part of a Christmas Eve special programme
