James Bond star Daniel Craig donated £50k to Brimscombe Mill

Actor Daniel Craig has donated £50,000 to the community hub, Brimscombe Mill, to help keep it open. The donation follows the revelation that the building had been sold, putting jobs at risk. The hub is home to several projects including The Long Table, The Bike Drop, Kids Stuff and The Home Remedy, and was given six months to find a new home earlier this year.

The Long Table, which has served over 38,000 meals to people through its pay-as-you-can model since 2021, is one of the organisations that has set up at a new location in Cirencester. Brimscombe Mill’s director, Tom Herbert, called the donation from Craig “incredible support” that will “deepen our impact”. He went on to say that the space offered “not only meals and activities but also a sense of belonging and shared purpose”.

The community support for Brimscombe Mill shows the vitality of the project, Herbert added. The hub has become a lifeline for many people, offering essential services and a sense of community. The donation from Craig, who has played the iconic role of James Bond, will help the hub to continue to serve the local community.

The donation to Brimscombe Mill is just one example of Craig’s philanthropic contributions. He has also worked as an advocate for global issues such as the refugee crisis and landmines. The actor has used his platform to draw attention to issues that he is passionate about, showcasing the power of individuals to make a difference
