On Sunday night, the MTV Awards made their way to Manchester for the first time in their 30-year history. The show aimed to nod to the city it was being held in with a few black and yellow stripes thrown into the stage design to symbolise Factory Records. The nominated acts, however, drew more of a global perspective, highlighting acts from all over the world, including Mexico, South Korea, South Africa and America.
