Authorities in Scotland have conducted a raid on a fishing vessel for alleged incidents related to modern slavery and labour exploitation. BBC Scotland News was on the scene to witness the operation, which took place at a port on the west coast of Scotland. Multiple local and national enforcement agencies were involved in the effort to disrupt the suspected abuses.
During the raid, a 38-year-old man was taken into custody for questioning. Several men from Ghana were removed from the boat by authorities. Separately, a 50-year-old man was arrested at another port on charges of human trafficking-related activities. To further investigate the matter, Scottish police reported that evidence would be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.
