Tarrant Keyneston: Fireworks destroy van after exploding in blaze

A vehicle carrying fireworks caught on fire and was destroyed in Tarrant Keyneston, Dorset on Friday evening. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service reported to the scene at approximately 9:50 p.m. local time. Luckily, no one was injured as a result of the fire.

Due to the risk that the fireworks could pose, a cordon was set up around the burning vehicle. Once the fire had burned out, the cordon was removed again. Firefighters left the area by approximately 7:50 a.m. the following day.

The van will need recovering, and the road will remain closed until both this and any necessary repairs have been carried out. It is not yet known what caused the fire.
