UK support for Ukraine 'iron-clad', Keir Starmer tells Zelensky

During a recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Budapest, Sir Keir Starmer reaffirmed the UK’s “iron-clad” support for Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia. The two leaders met at a summit of the European Political Community, where they discussed Ukraine’s sovereignty, as well as the importance of freedom, democracy, and European values.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted that although Europe has increased its defense spending thanks in part to Trump’s first term as president, there is still more work to be done. Rutte emphasized the threat posed by Russia’s alliance with China, North Korea, and Iran.

Sir Keir’s meeting with President Zelensky was the sixth time the two leaders have met since Starmer became Prime Minister.
