Conor McGregor: Woman claims MMA fighter choked her before rape


Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor is being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Dublin hotel room. In a court hearing, the woman, Nikita Hand, alleged that Mr McGregor had choked her three times during the attack and she believed that she was going to die. Ms Hand has filed a civil action against Mr McGregor and another man for damages arising from the alleged assault which occurred in December 2018.

Mr McGregor is denying all the allegations stating that Ms Hand is engaged in extortion. In 2020, Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions did not proceed with a criminal case against either Mr McGregor or the second defendant due to lack of evidence and no convincing prospect of a conviction. In Republic of Ireland civil action neither the complainant nor the two accused men are allowed natural anonymity during court proceedings.
