The results of an inquest into the deaths of a mother and her two teenage children, who were shot in their home in Luton, have revealed they all died from gunshot wounds to the head. The attack took place on 13 September and police arrested Nicholas Prosper, 18, for the murders. He was charged with three counts of murder and remanded to custody upon his arrest. The victims, identified as Juliana Falcon, 48, Kyle Prosper, 16, and Giselle Prosper, 13, had not been identified until 25 September.
Emma Whiting, the senior coroner for Bedfordshire, opened the inquest in Ampthill. She adjourned the session until an unspecified later date. Nicholas Prosper is due to appear for a plea and preparation trial at Luton Crown Court on 5 December. The deaths reportedly sent shockwaves through the Marsh Farm community, and the local MP Gavin Shuker called for action to be taken to tackle gun crime.
The police have not yet provided a motive or alleged a reason for the attack. Three GoFundMe pages have been set up to raise funds for the funerals and memorials of the victims. Donna Forde, one of the mourners, wrote on Giselle’s fundraising page: “Sweet Giselle, oh how we will all miss you. Such a bright little light who touched everyone who knew her.”
