Lions and meerkats play with Halloween pumpkins at London Zoo

The Halloween spirit has arrived at the London Zoo, where the animals are receiving special attention as part of the seasonal activities. The meerkats are particularly excited about the carved pumpkin, which seems to amuse them to no end. Aptly named Dracula, the meerkat is often seen playing with the pumpkin, along with its friends Penelope and Frank.

Meanwhile, the lions are getting an extra treat with their pumpkins. Mali, Syanii and Shanti, three Asiatic lions at the zoo, are being treated to a pumpkin dusted with ginger and ground clove. While they may not be able to fully appreciate the Halloween season as humans do, the animals are being kept entertained and stimulated as part of the zoo’s policy to enrich the lives of its inhabitants.

It’s not just the meerkats and lions that are receiving special treatment. The visitors to the zoo are also being treated to a glimpse of these unique activities, which make for great photo opportunities and lasting memories. London Zoo is known for its innovative programs that help make the lives of the animals under its care better.

Overall, Halloween at the London Zoo is shaping up to be a great success, with the animals enjoying extra enrichment and the visitors being treated to some fantastic sights. It’s an excellent example of how zoos can go beyond the traditional concept of simply displaying animals, and instead engage in activities that improve their quality of life in a fun and creative manner
