Zip World: Halloween clown attacked with 'medical device'


An employee who was dressed as a clown at a Halloween event had to be hospitalized after he was allegedly attacked with a “potentially dangerous medical device”. The incident happened on Monday at the Ffear Fforest event – an event that has been dubbed “north Wales’ ultimate scare fest” by the organizers. According to Zip World, the staff member got hurt after coming into contact with a “potentially dangerous medical device” although the firm declined to comment on claims that it was a needle.

North Wales Police were called to the site on Monday evening following reports of an assault. The police said that there was no risk to the wider public and it is currently conducting more inquiries. The employee had been taken to the hospital for checking and was later released.

The staff member, who was part of Zip World’s entertainment team, was dressed in fancy dress as a clown. An official spokesperson for Zip World said that security measures at the site have since been increased and the company is working with the police. The site was closed while the police were investigating but has now been reopened.

Some customers have expressed their displeasure with the situation. According to one of the attendees, they were left waiting in the dark following the alleged assault and police spent more than two hours searching every vehicle. One woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that there were a lot of people crying and asking questions. She and another customer who paid about £30 a ticket do not know if they will be refunded
