Watch: Moment man who stabbed asylum seeker is arrested


A man has been found guilty of attempted murder after he attacked an asylum seeker in a hotel in Worcestershire. The victim, Nahom Hagos, was stabbed in the chest and hand by Callum Ulysses Parslow, who claimed he carried out the attack as a “protest” against small boat crossings into the UK.

During the trial, Parslow admitted wounding but denied attempted murder. He stated that he travelled to the Pear Tree Inn at Hindlip, Worcestershire, on April 2 with the intention of stabbing “one of the Channel migrants”. Parslow also has a tattoo of Adolf Hitler’s signature on his left forearm.

According to Parslow, he carried out the attack because he was “angry and frustrated”. He later tried to send a letter before his arrest that said he had “just done my duty to England” by trying to “exterminate” his victim.

Parslow has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court at a later date. The attack comes amid heightened tensions in the UK over the issue of small boat
