Ipswich Town Football Club’s experienced defender Axel Tuanzebe has sustained an unfortunate hand injury, which is anticipated to keep him out of action for at least a month. Tuanzebe, who is a 26-year-old player from DR Congo, accidentally cut his thumb badly while washing the dishes last week. The defender was included in the first six Premier League matches for Ipswich after being promoted, however, he missed the recent 4-1 loss to West Ham because of the injury. Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna stated in an interview that Tuanzebe’s accident was an unexpected and unfortunate incident.
“He’s naturally a miss with the way he’s started the season. He’s going to be out for a little while,” said McKenna. Ipswich Town revealed to BBC Sport that Tuanzebe had a successful surgery after the accident had occurred at home. Ben Johnson replaced Tuanzebe after his injury at London Stadium during the disappointing defeat in which Ipswich remained winless after a total of seven league games.
Tuanzebe had been an essential part of Ipswich’s early-season surge and will be a significant player for the club when he can return to action. The club is likely to be facing some challenging decisions without the defender, with room for some younger players to prove what they can do. It’s not the first time a footie player has been side-lined by a household chore, and it won’t be the last time people injure themselves in similarly unlucky ways.
Tuanzebe’s absence is definitely going to be felt in Ipswich’s squad as they try to overcome more significant challenges in the future. However, fans and fellow players alike wish him a quick recovery and cannot wait to see him on the pitch again
