Trowbridge: Dead dog and rifle found with Cardiff couple's bodies

Police in South Wales are investigating the deaths of a married couple found at their home in Trowbridge, Cardiff. The couple, who were “completely devoted to each other” according to a neighbor, had been married for over 50 years. The couple’s cocker spaniel was also found dead at the scene. The couple’s home has been cordoned off for investigation and police are conducting inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. A post-mortem examination is expected to reveal the cause of death. Another area resident who knew the couple, described them as “nice, quiet” people who always waved as they drove past. The tragedy has shocked and saddened the local community, according to Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees.

This incident highlights not only the shock and difficulty on the community when a tragedy like this occurs, but also the importance of looking out for and checking up on neighbors, particularly the elderly and disabled. Many elderly people may suffer from isolation and rely on neighbors and the community to keep them connected and ensuring their welfare.

The investigation is ongoing and police have urged anyone with information related to the deaths of the couple to come forward
