The Trump International resort in Menie will be opening its second golf course in Aberdeenshire next year. The new 18-hole links MacLeod Course will bear the name of former United States President Donald Trump’s mother, Mary MacLeod. The course is expected to open during the summer of 2025, and will feature “the largest sand dunes in Scotland”, becoming “the greatest 36 holes in golf” along with the original course built in 2012. The launch of the new golf course had begun last year, three years after approval was given by the local council.

Recently, Mr Trump’s Turnberry course in Ayrshire was listed as the most expensive place to play in the UK, after fees rose to £1,000 per round.
The new golf course named after Mary is expected to be the talk of the town once it opens for play next year. Though the past controversies surrounding Trump’s other Aberdeenshire resort cannot be ignored, expectations for the MacLeod Course remain high, expecting nothing less than the best, especially with Trump’s reputation on the line
