Disguised Sunderland GP poisoned man in will row, court hears


A doctor disguised himself and injected his mother’s partner with a toxin in a dispute over inheritance, heard a court case. Thomas Kwan, a British General Practitioner, went by an alias using the name Raj Patel, and created a fake ID which included an image of himself wearing a false beard, moustache, and wig. He admits to administering a poisonous injection to Patrick O’Hara, Ms Leung’s boyfriend when she refused to waive her inheritance rights. Nevertheless, he denies attempted murder, claiming he intended to inflict no more than mild pain and discomfort.

Mr Kwan worked at the Happy House Surgery in Sunderland, and KC Peter Makepeace said he was an experienced and well-respected GP with an encyclopedic knowledge of toxins.
