Kaba was sitting in the driver’s seat of an Audi car when he was shot in the head in Streatham, south London. The incident took place following police operations to stop the car, which was being driven by Kaba. Reports of men getting into cars after gunshots had been fired in Brixton, south London, had led to the police following Kaba.
Blake may have been “angry, frustrated and annoyed” at the time of the shooting. The court heard the defendant did not know the victim, so it is unclear what he was thinking at the time of the incident. The prosecution argued that Blake’s reaction may have been due to Kaba’s failure to comply with police instructions.
