Mohamed Al Fayed was 'a monster enabled by' Harrods, says lawyer


Harrods former owner Mohamed Al Fayed is a “sexual predator,” according to barristers representing dozens of women who have accused him of assault and threats. During a press conference in London, Dean Armstrong KC suggested that the department store should take responsibility after allegations of rape and more were made against Fayed in a recent BBC investigation. Lawyers also indicated that Harrods operated under a system that pervaded the London store. Ex-Harrods employees spoke of being subjected to medical tests, including full cervical smears as well as having their ovaries checked, with degrading, humiliating comments made about the results.

During the press conference, over 20 survivors sat at the front, nodding in agreement or shaking their heads as they listened to grim and disturbing allegations.
