A teenager with extreme far-right views has been sentenced to over five years in prison for assaulting a trans woman. Alex Hutton, also known as Alex Edwards, was convicted of assault motivated by hostility towards the victim’s gender identity. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed that Hutton had a history of terrorism offences and held extreme views of racism, transphobia, and homophobia.
Hutton used mixed martial arts techniques to assault the victim, hospitalising her and leaving a trainer imprint on her face. He appeared before Winchester Crown Court in Hampshire and was handed a total sentence of five years and four months in custody, plus a further five-year extended sentence on licence.
South Wales Police arrested Hutton in November 2023 after a member of the public reported finding a video on his Instagram profile. In this video, Hutton claimed to have kicked an unknown person in the head, and the footage featured far-right imagery. Hutton was subject to a Criminal
