Barbara Nomakhosi, a 35-year-old carer, was found dead in Bury on Friday. A murder investigation has been opened after it was confirmed that she died of multiple injuries. The victim was described as a “caring and thoughtful” person by her family. The family also stated that Barbara loved her job as a carer and left a lasting impact on those around her.
Greater Manchester Police reported that a man in his 40s, suspected of her murder, died on the M65 near Blackburn, Lancashire that same night. The collision involved an HGV lorry and a pedestrian and the suspect died at the scene. Although no other suspects are being sought in connection to the murder, the police are investigating the case.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Davis expressed his condolences to the family and emphasized the pain that comes with the loss of a loved one. He went on to reassure them that the police are dedicated to finding out the circumstances behind the murder and assisting the family in any way they can.
