A young boy has tragically lost his life after struggling in a lake in Greater Manchester. The incident occurred at Scotmans Flash in Wigan on Saturday afternoon. Despite being rescued from the water by staff from a nearby watersports facility at approximately 3:00 pm, the emergency services were unable to save him.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and have expressed their condolences to the family. The boy’s relatives are reportedly receiving support as they come to terms with the devastating news.
In a Facebook post, the staff at the watersports activity centre described their deep sadness at the loss of the young boy and praised their team members for their valiant efforts to save him. They highlighted the courage and determination of everyone involved in trying to save him.
