Visa networks making millions illegally fleecing students


A BBC investigation has uncovered a global network of recruitment agents that has cheated international students out of tens of thousands of pounds by selling them worthless visa documents to work in the UK. The middlemen targeted students eager to find jobs in the care industry and charged them up to £17,000 for sponsorship certificates that should have been free. However, the Home Office refused to approve the visa applications due to invalid paperwork. A Pakistani national, Taimoor Raza rented offices and recruited staff in the West Midlands to promise dozens of students work in care homes and employment sponsorship. Raza’s operation sold 141 visa documents, most of them invalid, for £1.2m. Three women in their 20s, all from India, paid £38,000 to different agents
