Staines: Bodies of three children and man found – police

Police in Surrey have said that three children and one man were found dead at a property in Staines-Upon-Thames. The ambulance service had contacted officers in Bremer Road, Spelthorne, which resulted in the attendance of the police. As yet, nothing has been confirmed; however, officials do not believe that this was an outside force and that it was likely isolated to the individuals found. The necessary support is currently being put into place for all the immediate family members and relatives of the victims, and they, in turn, are receiving the help of a professional specialist team.

The case is being closely investigated. Due to prior police involvement with some of the people involved in the case, there has been a necessary referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The IOPC has announced that they have been notified about the communication from Surrey police about the incident and that they will conduct an assessment about the necessary action that should take place, stating: “We will be assessing a referral from the force to decide whether any action is required by the IOPC.”

“There is currently a significant police presence at the location, and in the surrounding area, and we would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding whilst we conduct our investigation.” This was confirmed by Chief Inspector Lucy Sanders, who also expressed that it was a “tragic loss of life in our community and we are working to establish exactly what has occurred.” Bremer Road has been closed since the occurrence.

As of yet, there has been no release of the identity of the individuals that were found at the property, nor confirmation of the age of the children. We will keep you updated with any further information that becomes available.
