The Killers were forced to pause their headline set at Outside Lands Festival due to a medical emergency over the weekend. During their performance of ‘Caution’, bright lights towards the back of the crowd caught frontman Brandon Flowers’ attention and he requested security to investigate the situation. The music was quickly cut, and Flowers addressed staff on stage. The San Francisco Fire Department praised his actions, confirming that there had been a medical emergency in the crowd.
“By stopping the music and letting the crowd know, letting the medical people do their stuff, it’s a benefit to the person experiencing the medical emergency and in some cases it can help save a life,” said spokesperson Jonathan Baxter. After a brief pause, the band returned to their set, played an interlude of ‘Runaway Horses’ and picked up where they left off.
The setlist included many of their classic hits, such as ‘Somebody Told Me’, ‘Mr. Brightside’, and ‘Human’. However, they didn’t perform their latest single, ‘Bright Lights’, which they debuted the same day. The band is now set to play their 2004 debut album Hot Fuss in full over ten nights at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, starting on August 14th and ending on September 1st.
The Killers embarked on their UK and Ireland “Rebel Diamonds” greatest hits tour earlier this summer, which included a six-night residency at The O2 in London. Fans of the iconic band will surely be excited to hear that they’ll be performing their classic album once again, following their critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency earlier this year
