Dave Navarro says he has an unreleased album with Taylor Hawkins and NHC

NHC, the band comprising Dave Navarro, the late Taylor Hawkins, and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction, has a completed album that is awaiting release, as revealed by Navarro himself. The group released two singles, “Feed The Cruel” and “Better Move On”, in September 2021, followed by two more in November, “Devil You Know” and “Lazy Eye”. They released the “Intakes & Outtakes” EP in February 2022. However, Hawkins passed away the following month, leaving the band’s future up in the air.

Navarro spoke to Rolling Stone about the group’s completed, mastered record. He stated that he believes it should be released because it showcased Taylor’s brilliance as a musician. He added that Taylor drummed, wrote most of the songs, and sang them, highlighting his overall musical ability. Navarro stated it was one of his happiest experiences making the album with Taylor but has been unable to listen to it since. However, he is unsure when or if it will be released.

Navarro recently spoke about his mental health and how he found it challenging to play the guitar after losing Hawkins. He said that he had recently finished a record with Hawkins when he was lost in the middle of COVID, and it was difficult to pick up the guitar after that. Navarro believes that Taylor was an inspiring artist who had an incredible presence in the industry, and he was amazed by what he brought to the table. He has recently rejoined Jane’s Addiction and performed live in London in May 2022. The band has also released their first new music in 34 years.

Jane’s Addiction embarked on a North American headline tour in August 2022, and Love & Rockets provided the support. Tickets are still available for some of the performances, and a complete list of dates are on their website
